Workshop 4: Communication and Outreach

June 20 – 22, 2022

This workshop (WS4) will train SWATNet ESRs on effective communication of space weather and scientific results to various target groups (e.g., school kids, journalists, policy makers, the general public). Partners will contribute on describing how to increase the awareness of space weather impacts on the spheres outside science (for instance, economics). By guiding students through theory and practical exercises, trainers will introduce concepts on how to successfully communicate research results to the broad scientific community via posters, talks and papers.

Theme: Communicate Science to non-scientist: Public Outreach. How to communicate a research project and scientific results via media interviews, news articles, talks for non-specialist audience.

Format: hybrid, with ESRs and majority of the trainers participating face to face
